Hi, I’m mariah.

I am a licensed mental health clinician based in California who provides evidence-based therapy to individuals, couples, families, and entrepreneurs.

As a multipotentialite with over 20 years of experience in medical social work, 10 years as a licensed clinical social worker, and the last 6 years as a financial therapist, I tailor treatment to address each client’s mental health, including anxiety, depression, adjustment, or money disorders, as well as clients financial needs and goals as indicated.

My Approach

In my practice, I blend Financial Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) or Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), to help you navigate difficult thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and heal trauma, while at the same time supporting you to take action toward your life and financial goals.

I am Gottman Level I trained to support couples and family counseling and am working towards becoming a Certified ADHD Professional through PESI.

My qualifications

My educational background includes a BA in Sociology from UC San Diego and an MSW from UC Berkeley.

While living and working in New Zealand, I received an Executive MBA from the University of Waikato.

I am a licensed clinical social worker in California, LCSW #65613.

Additionally, I am a Certified Financial Therapist - I (CFT-1) through the Financial Therapy Association.

Finally, I am bi-lingual and can provide psychotherapy in both English and Spanish.

My journey

to becoming a financial therapist was inspired by my own experiences of overcoming financial adversity, challenging limiting beliefs, aligning spending with my values, and creating a healthy relationship with money.

Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my family, being in nature, and having adventures. These personal interests inform my holistic approach to therapy, which emphasizes the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit.

My Greatest Strength

is being a trauma-informed, neuro-affirmative, safe, and neutral space as well as a soundboard to explore your innermost thoughts and feelings.

Providing financial therapy and psychotherapy services, for me, is a passion and privilege. I have deeply enjoyed this path to date and look forward to our work together.
